Zlatan announces return to Man U with picture of him dressed as Jesus
After back to back 4-0 wins in their first two matches of the season, Manchester United fans got more good news today as it was announced that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying at Old Trafford for another season.
Ibrahimovic joined United last summer on a free transfer and scored 28 goals for the side, but his season was ended early by a knee injury and there were questions about whether the 35-year-old would return to top flight soccer.
With reported offers from LA Galaxy and newly-minted LAFC, Zlatan chose to stay in the Premier League, clearly signaling that he’s not quite ready to call it quits in Europe.
Zlatan announced the deal in typical Zlatan fashion, posting a picture of himself dressed as Jesus armwrestling the devil on Twitter.

That’s just about the most Zlatan shit I ever did see. The Swedish striker has one of the most infamous egos in the sports world.
As for United, this fortifies their attacking options even more. After buying Romelu Lukaku for around $100 million this summer, adding Zlatan to the Manchester United frontline is downright scary.
United manager Jose Mourinho spoke about bringing Zlatan back for another year,
“After his contribution last season he deserves our trust and we will be patient waiting for him to return… I have no doubt that he will be important in the second part of the season.”
Zlatan is still recovering from knee surgery but should be fit by December. He’ll be a valuable second half addition for Manchester United as the Premier League schedule always heats up around that time.
Ibrahimovic talked about his decision to spurn advances from America and stay at Old Trafford,
“It was always mine and the club’s intention for me to stay… “I cannot wait to get back out on that Old Trafford pitch, but I also know that I have to take my time to make sure that I am ready. I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch.”
We won’t see Zlatan until around Christmas time, but I’m sure he’ll be back to his best when he returns. It’s a scary prospect for all of United’s rivals in the Premier League as the Manchester side appears to be returning to their intimidating best.
