A stoner’s guide to growing your own weed plant at home

About two weeks ago, I wrote about the journey of growing my first weed plant. I was so excited for the sprout, to not have to rely on dealers… until my plant knocked over my balcony and I lost my seed. Already germinated, mind you 🙁

Well, lucky me, I just happened to have an extra seed, so this time will be different. I hope to prevent you from making my mistakes, and help you grow your garden to the high heavens!

Keep in mind, these tips are most relevant for outdoor growing, but all of them should help in parts for your indoor creatures. With that out of the way, here we go…

Germinating

This is when your seed sprouts open, showing what will be the root. To kickstart this, you just need a paper towel, zip-lock plastic bag, and some water. Hydrogen peroxide (available at any drug store) also helps, but it is not necessary.

To start, fold the paper towel so it fits comfortably in the plastic bag. Preferably, you will fit your folds to the bag’s size. then, place your seed on one side of the paper towel in the middle. Here’s where the water comes in…

If you use hydrogen peroxide, mix about a bottle cap to a medicine cap’s worth into your water, depending on the size of your water container. Then, dab your paper towel so it’s all around damp, but not too soaked. Keep outstanding water or bigger drops.

Waiting…

After following those last steps, write the date of your growth’s start on the bag. You’ll want to keep the bag, seed facing DOWN (this is important), indirect sunlight if possible.

If done like this, you’ll see sprouting anywhere from 1-3 days. In indirect sunlight or artificial light, about 3-5 days can be expected. Dark and warm locations do well for germination indoors but still check on your lil’ buddies daily.

Sprouting

Pot Baby Groot GIF - Pot BabyGroot Baby - Discover & Share GIFs

Once you start to see the little baby roots poke out of the seed, that’s when you know it’s germinated and ready to plant! Be careful removing your seed from the bag, and use tweezers if you can.

In your little dirt pot (or whatever you use. I used an old Ben and Jerry’s carton), poke your finger in the dirt only to your first knuckle.

That depth, about one inch, is about as deep as you should plant. No matter your pot, make sure there are holes in the bottom to allow excess water to drain.

Potting

Keep in mind, your plant will only grow as big as the container’s size will allow, so your first pot likely won’t be your last. I got myself a five to seven-gallon pot for when the baby is grown enough and needs a bigger room. Is that what it’s like with kids?

Anyway, make sure in ALL your containers that your dirt is LOOSE. This will help the roots spread through the dirt with ease, allowing your plants to grow healthily! I made this mistake the first time around.

Finally, I hope you avoid placing your plant on an unstable perch. Make sure to put your pot somewhere stable and sturdy (if not in the ground), so that no wind can knock it over. I placed mine on the corner of my balcony’s guard rails, which worked for a while, until one gust of wind took my baby away…

Now, get out there and grow like your mother (nature) told ya!

Drop Delivery is creating a lasting shift in cannabis deliveries

Twenty years ago, it would’ve been odd to imagine random strangers picking up food from restaurants and dropping it off at your house as you ordered from a smartphone that rivals Nasa’s computers from the 1960s.

Today, it’s not only commonplace but is a boon for people shuttered in their homes during quarantines that don’t want to go to the grocery store.

Outside of food delivery giants like UberEats and Postmates, delivery services have been on a trajectory towards a golden age for several years. You can thank Amazon for that.

The online retailing behemoth basically sells everything under the sun with options for next-day delivery, free for its Prime members. It’s only a matter of time before its fleet of drones becomes the new urban standard for delivery, too, pending regulatory concerns.

But is delivery more than merely porting some consumer products from point A to point B? The cannabis industry would have you believe, yes, indeed, it is much more.

In particular, the emerging cannabis delivery management platform, Drop Delivery, is redefining what customer delivery means. And it may create a lasting shift in how we perceive delivery management and consumer preferences.

Lean Startups, New Products

Riffing off Eris Ries’ “The Lean Startup,” the technologically-flush future will be defined by capital-efficient, nimble startups that capture the versatility of business direction and mobility of consumer preferences.

There’s no better market to launch a lean startup than an emerging one that is highly fragmented, contains a lucrative potential, and is largely confined to mostly two states. That’s the cannabis industry. Already generating billions in sales, the cannabis industry has fared much better than the rest of the world during a pandemic that has ruptured global supply chains.

Why? Its verticals are almost entirely localized in North America — primarily Canada, California, and Colorado.

However, like all emerging markets, the opportunity to conceal many of the industry’s inefficiencies into a more efficient market is ripe. “The cannabis industry, despite its rapid growth, is still highly fragmented,” details Vanessa Gabriel, Co-Founder of Drop Delivery.

“With our past company, Greenlight, we realized that a cannabis delivery business would be using numerous platforms to take care of their needs. As a cannabis business, I would need solutions for the following: e-commerce, POS/Inventory, compliancy, CRM & loyalty, SMS Marketing, and delivery logistics at the bare minimum.”

Oddly enough, a bespoke platform servicing all those comprehensive aspects of running a modern cannabis industry fell within the purview of Drop Delivery because of how they perceived the market opportunity.

They’re much more than just a Cannabis delivery management platform; Drop Delivery is a turnkey solution providing retailers with tools such as e-commerce, rewards and loyalty, delivery tracking, SMS marketing,  analytics, compliance reporting and more.

“We offer all-in-one delivery management software,” says Gabriel.

“We empower our clients to build their company identity and increase customer retention with their own mobile app. Since all of their customer data is being tracked, they can send personalized SMS marketing messages to customers among a suite of other features.”

So, why is a comprehensive turnkey platform for cannabis businesses looking to tap into an overflowing reservoir of customers specifically targeting delivery management? Because it’s the future of retail.

If Amazon’s ever-expanding market dominance wasn’t proof enough already, then the intricacies of the cannabis market may prove more compelling. The cannabis sector is markedly different than food delivery and, most importantly, lay outside the purview of Amazon because of regulatory moats.

For example, cannabis products range from varying strength gummy bears to actual marijuana — all meticulously grown and crafted under the auspices of specific brands, growers, and manufacturers.

The options for products are significantly more wide-ranging than food, and cannabis’s THC is psychoactive. Pizza is not psychoactive, marking a sharp contrast between the classes of food and drugs.

There are even THC-infused craft beers now.

By catering to an emerging startup market within the technology space (e.g., delivery, marketing, etc.) rather than focusing on a single product, Drop Delivery can bolster companies looking to remain lean, nimble startups. It simply becomes the hub for launching a cannabis startup in a bustling city, with its clients as the spokes.

Competitively, platforms like Drop Delivery don’t have major tech giants to contend with like Amazon either. Amazon cannot legally distribute cannabis products, even CBD. It probably doesn’t want the headache of doing so either since it’s position in the retail e-commerce market is already entrenched.

“Customer retention and segmented marketing are all important aspects of building a successful company that should be incorporated from the beginning,” says Gabriel. “Those are rolled into the Drop Delivery nexus.”

The Rise of Super Apps & Market Consolidation

While not technically qualifying as a “super app,” Drop Delivery is intriguing as a microcosm for much of the ongoing technological consolidation broached by China’s WeChat. SuperApps are proliferating for a garden variety of reasons, but most importantly, because of reduced costs and streamlined access to large customer bases.

It’s much easier for users to transition between payment solutions, communications, social media, and e-commerce when they’re all embedded within the same interface. Hence, it’s not surprising that Instagram and Snapchat are prominently pursuing social commerce integrations.

Comparatively, the cannabis industry doesn’t really need a super app, at least for now. However, the same cost-cutting capabilities of super apps are mirrored by all-in-one bespoke platforms like Drop Delivery. Rather than agnostic services, however, they’re explicitly tailored to a niche industry’s requirements.

Efficiency subsequently becomes easier as cannabis firms can reduce costs by leveraging a SaaS package, mobile app, and comprehensive delivery management from a single locus. No need to spin up their own app at a premium using freelance development teams or navigating the convoluted digital marketing world. A one-stop-shop is naturally appealing.

Major technological hubs of services eventually lead to more efficient markets, delivery innovations, and lower costs that are passed on to consumers as lower prices since the overhead is smaller.

The cannabis delivery market may produce a lasting shift in delivery services.

By integrating multiple features into a single platform for other companies to seamlessly plug into, those companies can remain lean, efficient startups built for the digital age. Consequently, all-in-one delivery management platforms stand to absorb the most value from the innovations and tinkering of the spokes connected to their hubs.

Particularly in a niche, blossoming industry like cannabis — that’s a compelling lure for tinkering with delivery innovation. More capital from cost-savings, more research and experimentation with new methods.

It may even serve as a model for how to create an aggregative business without hemorrhaging money like Uber and the curious case of WeWork.

Who knows, maybe Amazon drones can eventually be contracted to disperse everyone’s favorite THC-infused craft beers across a sprawling metropolis. If you think strangers dropping off food is weird now, just wait until robots are dropping off marijuana consumables.

The struggle is real: Here’s to growing my first cannabis plant

Plants are so much easier to raise than kids. With the lowering birth rates and rising plant parenthood in millennials, growing looks like the way. Recently, I took on the plant caretaker role, and here’s what I’ve learned…

Leave it to a millennial to be impatient.

Best Impatient GIFs | Gfycat

Depending on the plant you grow, curb your expectations on the sprouting. Like the title says, I’ve undertaken growing Mary Jane, so I’ll be waiting a bit.

With my soon-to-be green tree, size does matter. Your plant will only grow as big as the container it’s in, so plant wisely. At the moment, my baby is calling a week old Ben & Jerry’s pint its home.

growing first cannabis plant

This will all change when you reach the next phase…

So you got your big planting pot, so what?

If you want the plant to grow, you’ll need fertile soil and fertilizer. I find a variety of different types to be healthy for the plant, but what do I know? Composting will do well for any plant’s growth, so your food scraps will never be wasted! Organic material supports healthy growth (read BIGGER BUDS)!

Like waiting for the seed to sprout, your compost will need time to decompose. The wait involved is the most nerve-wracking part. The worry if your plant will come out right, or at all, lingers.

Is this what mothers who drink in pregnancy feel? Just like Guns N’ Roses said, “All it takes is just a little patience.”

From the brief online reading I did preparing (thank you, Leafly), rookie growers tend to overwater. Oops. Wait for the top layer of your soil to be totally dry before dessert. Water for your plants is great, but make sure it can drain.

If you’re doing a DIY grow in a makeshift container like I am, poke holes in the bottom if possible. This allows the water to thoroughly run through the soil and some unnecessary water to escape.

If you have a balcony, rooftop, patio, or garden, I’d recommend. I’m lucky to have a private balcony, so no human or animal pests.  Be careful about the strains you choose to grow outside, as this Zamnesia article implies some are more suited for the outdoors than others. Being four days in now, I’m excited about the future of my now unnamed flowerpot.

Patience, my friends. The fruits of your labors will come.

Adjusting after quarantine: Why hanging out will never be the same

When it comes to comforts we’ve been missing most, the companionship of the people we love ranks highest, in most of our books. We give them hugs, we dap them up, we share our kush, all things Zoom hangouts can’t provide.

So how will this look after we’re all back in the world?

Quarantine and chill has a whole new meaning

Many of us will rush to hug our friends and family as soon as we can see them next, but will everyone rush to lay the pipe?

Some people may feel apprehensive about touching each other out of fear of contracting any leftover illness. Hopefully, it will be safe to do so, as I couldn’t imagine any of us want to keep the 6-feet space forever.

For those of you Netflix and Chillers out there, your time may be on the horizon. Many of us have sorely missed the Chill part of the equation, and have had enough of our share of the Netflix.

Give it some time, though, as many are still uncertain and unwilling to invite a potential sickness into their homes.

Popping out with the squad will be DIFFERENT

The way I see it, once common hangout spots like bars, malls, and restaurants may likely be packed to the brim upon reopening. The sudden rush of excitement felt in having the option to resume life as normal will be tempting for many of us. However, just as many may not feel so optimistic.

Understandably, there is a certain skepticism that some have around going back into public with other people. There may be some who have found they’re more comfortable indoors, and choose to stay there most of the time after the fact.

Because of this, we may see less of some of our friends for a little while, but it’s important to give them time to adjust. We all need a little bit at the moment.

Working from home might be the wave

With working remotely becoming the norm, many feel comfortable working from home. Without the need to dress in code, eating on your own schedule, and still getting work done, who wouldn’t want that?

We have been shown that some companies do not need to be centralized, so many have gravitated to this remote working lifestyle. The daily commute is one thing that will not be missed for sure. The money saved on gas can go to the other gas.

Speaking of gas…

BYOB! Personal blunts for everyone

Now, let’s not forget the time-honored smoke circle. A tradition as old as the herb itself, the circle has taken a beating lately.

How willing, however, will everyone be to share backwood with coronavirus fresh in everyone’s memories. It’s possible a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bud) unwritten rule may become the way of tomorrow.

Will smoking still be the wave? The sense of community is lost when we no longer share ganja with the people we enjoy.

Many of my friendships have been formed in the holy circle and many more who I am yet to meet.  The tradition should not die, though it may die down. Let’s just hope the love is safe to share.

As it stands, we can’t say what the future holds, but keep your flame of hope alive, my friends. May that spark light the blunt of persistence that keeps you alive and sane throughout these uncertain times.

Time is a more limited resource than money, yet it is often valued less than that. One thing we have collectively learned is that we have to value our freedoms, including human interaction, when we have them.

Celebrities Who Use CBD Oil For Their Health

Due to the effectiveness of cannabidiol or CBD oil when it comes to managing pain and stress, even celebrities are proud to say that they are users of CBD.

Cannabidiol is used for many common medical conditions. CBD is one of over 100 chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant or marijuana Cannabis sativa (cannabinoids).

CBD products differ in properties and applications. The best of which is cbd oil for pain from vapingdaily. Cannabis has psychoactive cannabinoids like tetrahydrocannabinol or (THC). However, unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive.

Celebrities also need to unwind and relax, and they deserve to also gain from the health and wellness benefits of CBD.

Check out these celebrities who use CBD oil to maintain their health, so you’ll be more convinced that CBD really works.

Michael J. Fox

At the very young age of 29, Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991. His condition was disclosed to the public in 1998. In 2000, he took a break from acting due to the worsening symptoms.

He discovered CBD and has since been a keen user to treat the side effects and complications of Parkinson’s disease.

Here are the good-to-know facts about Michael J. Fox’s quest to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease:

  • Michael J. Fox is now active in the medical community, who also founded a foundation to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
  • The Michael J. Fox Foundation is considered the largest non-profit foundation worldwide that conducts research on Parkinson’s disease, in which he has invested more than 650 million dollars into research and clinical studies.
  • Some of these studies include researching CBD as an alternative treatment for the signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

Whoopi Goldberg

CBD helped Whoopi Goldberg with her health issues and brought her positive effects.

This American comedian, actress, singer, entrepreneur, and writer is also a cannabis advocate, who firmly believes that cannabis has therapeutic properties that can help women, like those who are suffering from menstrual cramps.

Also, top tested products of CBD, according to her, help effectively relieve stress and pain.

Minka Kelly

Minka Kelly, the famous Friday Night Lights alumni, stated her deep love for her “new favorite morning chug” on her Instagram Story last year.

It was a CBD-infused beverage, and according to her, it brings her full-body relaxation, a clear head, and euphoria.

Mandy Moore

While many people use CBD oil to conquer stress, Many Moore uses it to relieve heel pain brought about by wearing high-heeled shoes.

It’s die-hard to be an actress or a famous woman because you’ve got to wear high heels every time—and Mandy Moore is not an exception.

That’s why when she discovered the pain relief brought about by CBD, she never stopped using it.

She narrated that she had experienced so much pain wearing high heels before that she described it as similar to walking on glass.

Such pain in the feet would really force anyone to leave the night early and choose to stay in bed all night to soothe the discomfort.

Mandy Moore uses a CBD-injected moisturizer with a pleasant fragrance that combines orange, evergreen, and bergamot.

Kim Kardashian

Like all other working moms, Kim Kardashian also undergoes everyday stress, and one of her stress-relievers is CBD.

She was first obsessed with CBD topicals because she was amazed by the healing capabilities of cannabidiol when it comes to stress and pain management.

She had even hosted a CBD-themed baby shower for her fourth baby, and all guests were welcomed and treated to CBD relaxation stations, such as CBD bath salt blends and CBD-infused yoga sessions.

This relaxing theme is unique, and Kim truly deserves it after all the busy instances in her life.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer has fallen in love with CBD. America’s favorite Friends star stated in one interview that cannabidiol helps her deal with pain, stress, and anxiety. CBD makes her feel all the positive effects of cannabis without the feeling of being “high”.

CBD is a natural healer because it has antioxidant, analgesic or anti-pain and anti-inflammatory properties. And Jennifer Aniston, like many people who are using CBD, knows that they can hardly resist it because of its health benefits.

Olivia Wilde

After performing, Olivia loves to use CBD cream to relieve soreness and pain, most especially in Broadway.

She narrated that her body was in total physical pain during a straight six-month Broadway performance, and CBD gave her the relaxation she needed. From that moment, she avoided using high doses of painkillers.

Conclusion

CBD oil captures almost everybody’s attention, including celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Mandy Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Its therapeutic properties have transformed these people’s lives, as well as improving the health condition of millions around the world.

It just goes to show that CBD transcends all walks of life, and can be used by anyone, even celebrities.

Why cannabis baddie Zena Sativa is teaching stoners to love themselves

The cannabis industry is (expectedly) plagued by various and sundry obstacles when it comes to conducting business.

Federal prohibition has put hurdles firmly in place that have in turn fueled innovative solutions for everything, from payment processing to advertising.

This climate has also supported an industry that relies on social media influencers to assist in their marketing strategies to stay compliant within the space.

Cannabis influencers know they’re imperative to brand growth and success, this allows them to step into their power and traditionally hold a lot more weight when it comes to promotion.

We sat down with cannabis brand ambassador and influencer Zena Sativa to learn more about her work inspiring us to live our best #PotGirlSummer every season this whole damn year.

Zena got her start in cannabis by frequenting her local Seattle recreational dispensary and building meaningful relationships with the budtenders, among others working at the spot.

These genuine connections led to her first stint as a cannabis model which opened doors to other opportunities like her collaboration with Seattle’s favorite Heylo Cannabis on a series of strain-specific stoner playlists.

After a move to LA, Zena started working in marketing as a brand ambassador for a prominent dispensary in the area and worked to promote cannabis brands and products that resonated with her for a couple of years on social media. This only led to more and more work in the space.

When asked about her killer style influences Zena explained that she is her own greatest #inspo.

“I envision looks in my head that could be inspired from a color, the fabric, or the cut, and piece them together with things that I like…”

Zena continued,

“I also dress FOR my body, because everything isn’t flattering on everyone. I dress for my shape and what hugs my body the way I need it to. Sometimes when I’m lacking inspiration I’ll watch a throwback movie and take notes of what I like. Like modernizing vintage looks and making them fit for me.”

Zena is a major advocate for self-care because she feels “the more you are caring and treating yourself the stronger you build your self-love.”

“I just hope if anyone gets anything from me it’s to be your best self, be a bad bitch, and accomplish the things you wanna get done! Don’t let anyone or anything block your blessings or hold you back and build up your self worth along the way…”

Zena continued,

“When you value yourself so high, your ‘self’ becomes stronger and no one can take that away from you. When your self-love is strong, you are powerful.”

Why should we only receive an award for doing well? To Zena that’s a “faulty mindset that only sets us back.” We always have to be good to ourselves. That way we’re happier, we are better for other people, and we actually produce more because our energy is improved.

“We deserve love and care on our bad days and even more than usual. No one knows our needs more than ourselves. That’s why the ‘self’ in self-love is so important. It builds your independence and teaches you to heal on your own.”

When it comes to fostering a unique and loyal community, Zena knows what’s up. Her vibe and hard work have helped her amass over 230k followers that support her with memes, art, and tons of engagement.

Her advice to other influencers looking to build their brand is to always stay true to yourself as that projection can be a public figure’s most precious asset.

“In this day and age, we are swamped with ads, it feels refreshing when you see authenticity. Don’t limit yourself to one field, expand and work on your skills, your knowledge, and let your mood board be endless. Follow people who inspire you, who are doing the same thing you are, who are doing what you want to be doing. Network and support each other!”

When she isn’t serving lewks hot enough to roast your bowl, Zena finds inspiration in “cooking bomb meals” and working on her new venture: @veganbutshethick as well as some cookbooks geared towards the vegan stoner.

Get spooky smacked on Halloween with these CBD and THC infused treats

Thinking about having a Halloween Party this week? What better way to make things extra spooky then by offering some specifically adult treats. No tricks just CBD and THC infused food and drinks.

Check out NUG and Keef for your party planning.

For your less “adventurous” friends give ’em some good old CBD to help them relax. But for everyone else, THC is a great party favor. No hotbox included.

Chocolate is always good but adding some trees and makes them a whole lot better. Plus with NUG’s CBD and THC infused chocolate bars there’s a flavor for everyone.

NUG chocolate bars come in flavors like Matcha White Chocolate (100 MG 1:1 CBD/THC), Mocha Crunch Milk Chocolate (100 MG THC), Salted Almond Dark Chocolate (100 MG THC), Milk Chocolate (100 MG THC), and Dark Chocolate (100 MG THC).

Look out for new flavors too, like Cookies and Cream White Chocolate. All NUG chocolates, including this new bar, is made with NUG’s single-source 100% Cannabis Distillate to make sure the only thing that hits your taste buds is that pure chocolate taste.

So don’t waste serious costume planning time making your own edibles.

Not into chocolate? First of all, how dare you.

Nonetheless, there’s hope for you. Keef’s bevies will do the trick. Keef Cola is the first THC Cola out there and comes in a bunch of flavors too. Your guests can choose from Blue Razz, Purple Passion, and the award-winning Bubba Kush Root Beer.

Keef Sparkling is a zero-calorie bevs and Keef shots come in Mojito and Keef-A-Rita flavors. So if you really want to make a cannabis-infused cocktail, you can.

Your guests will probably bring drinks and some snacks but you can make everyone’s night by supplying bud in the most festive of ways. No need to roll or set up the bong. No pesky nugs everywhere and wasted weed.

Just make sure you have enough food for the oncoming munchies.

Higher thinking: 5 steps to staying productive while you’re smacked

Ever had work to do but really wanted to get smacked? Ever tried to do work while high and failed miserably? Working while high has become a larger and more accepted phenomenon, riding the wave of cannabis legalization.

Some things are just less stressful while baked. Plus, if you can get those things done without stress wouldn’t that be your go-to? But there’s a fine line between relaxed and on it and too baked to get things done right.

But you’re in luck. You can get blasted and still get that bag with our guide for high productivity.

Step 1 – Set your intentions first before reaching for that vape.

If you really wanna get shit done, you need to actually think of what it is you wanna get done before you elevate yourself. Think of it as manifesting your goals.

Depending on your level of flakiness figure out a list of things you wanna do. Write it down if you have to. Create phone reminders if you really have to.

Look at it this way, if you’re anything like 90 percent of us you will definitely forget, procrastinate, or just dub that shit.

Step 2 – How are you elevating yourself?

Based on what you’re tryna do, select your level of smacked. Are you smoking a joint or two? Are you hitting a bong? Oil pen? Wax vape? Edibles (don’t)?

You might find yourself rolling a joint every few hours so if you wanna take a smoke break that could be your plan. A pen makes it easier for you to consistently hit throughout the day. A bong rip should sustain you for a few hours.

A wax or dab vape depending on its’ strength should keep you up for most of the day and vapes are better for you in the long run anyway. As for edibles, unless you’ve had those exact ones before you should probably steer clear.

Sativa, Indica or Hybrid?

You should probably go for a Sativa to keep your energy levels up while getting stuff done. You could go for a hybrid if your work requires less movement.

Step 3 – There are levels to this shit

No matter what type of weed you go for, or what your method of choice is, you should still look out for levels. If you have a wax vape like Cobra Extracts’ Linx Blaze vape you can select the temp settings.

Click three times to toggle between each color for each temperature. Blue for Low, Green For Medium and Yellow for Medium High and — I don’t know why you’d want this while tryna be productive but, you can also hit Red for High.

A post shared by Cobra Extracts (@cobraextracts) on

It goes without saying but imma say it, make sure you know your tolerance. You can’t really know how high you’ll get if you’ve never tried that wax before. And you sure as hell can’t tell what you’ll be able to do at that level.

Step 4 – Choose the right environment

Where are you gonna be? Are you working from home? The office? Running errands? Consider what might distract you, or what you might distract yourself with.

If you’re at home you can limit your distractions cause that’s where you control the skies. While at the office/work, make sure you don’t make it hot if they’re not down with it.

If you’re gonna be outside most of the time those phone reminders might come in handy.

Step 5 – Blaze it

Now that you’ve done all the planning and peeped where you’re gonna be, it’s time to actually smoke. Make sure you stay hydrated and eat throughout the day.

If you’re looking for a recommendation, definitely check out Cobra Extracts, our crew’s choice. You’ll be able to control your high with their vapes which are the key to productivity while smacked.

Remember Kulture Fam, stay elevated and go get that bag.

7 groundbreaking chefs breaking the weed stigma with cannabis cuisine

With the legalization of marijuana becoming more and more popular across the country, there is a race to make a splash in weed based product industry. A race to make the best cannabis cuisine.

The pairing of weed and food has come a long way.  It’s gone from stoners mixing THC oil into brownies for to top tier chefs masterfully incorporating bud into quality dishes for unique dining experiences.

While the history of the legalization of marijuana is clouded with racist overtones and unfair treatment to marginalized groups, several of the chefs successfully using weed based recipes are people of color.

Here are some of our favorite chefs who have elevated the game of cannabis cuisine.

1. Andrea Drummer

Chef Drummer is a Los Angeles-based chef who has been a leader in the field of weed-infused cuisine for years. After establishing herself as a premier chef in L.A., she was introduced to cannabis butter.

Drummer asserts that the infusion of pot in her recipes has made her a better, more precise chef. She is known for using different strains in different dishes but can be found using Blue Dream in more than a few recipes.

2. Scott Durrah

Scott Durrah has been a legend in the cannabis scene for quite some time now. Along with his wife, he opened the first black-owned dispensary in the country. Since then he has been a leader in developing healthy, consistent, and safe cannabis cuisine.

If that’s not enough, he recently announced plans to run for Denver’s city council. This man can do it all.

3. Miguel Trinidad

This New York City-based chef is known for his company, 99th Floor, which hosts extravagant invite-only parties that feature high-end dishes infused with specifically selected cannabis strains. Good luck getting an invite though – these parties are reserved for big dogs only.

We’re just hoping that weed gets legalized for recreational use in New York soon so he can bring these meals to the masses.

4. Megon Dee-Cave

Originally from Maryland and now based in Oregon, Megon Dee-Cave is a chef and activist educating people on the medicinal benefits of marijuana.

After struggling with securing her place in the industry due to her own legal background, Dee-Cave has established herself as one of the best fresh faces in the world of cannabis foods.

Her company, Oracle Infused Wellness Co. offers organic and vegan edibles for consumers.

Seattle based chef Unika Noiel was raised in a family of chefs and restaurateurs and has roots in soul food. Noiel’s company, Luvn Kitchn, made a splash after hosting a series of fellowship meals, which featured cannabis-infused dishes.

Unfortunately, the city of Seattle wasn’t so hip to the idea of the dinners and forced Noiel to obtain a city cannabis license, which is not yet something that exists for chefs. We’re sure Luvn Kitchn will continue to find ways to offer creative and delicious cannabis-infused treats to consumers.

6. Matt Stockard

Matthew Stockard a.k.a. Chef Matt is an LA-based private chef who specializes in high-end cannabis cuisine. Having catered for government officials, serving as a private chef for athletes and celebrities, Chef Matt has established himself as one of the premier cannabis chefs in Los Angeles and in the country.

In addition to his private chef services, Stockard offers classes for cannabis-based recipes and cocktails, wedding catering, and even event appearances.

Parks, along with her husband, Will, have been offering cannabis cooking classes to residents of their Baltimore community for about two years.

The couple, who are unable to legally sell cannabis foods under Maryland law, found a way to provide people with the necessary knowledge to safely and expertly make their own cannabis-infused foods at home.

If you are planning on joining the bandwagon and start creating your own CBD dishes, make sure to start with research first. Visit CBD sites like American Marijuana to learn more.
