Kevin Durant drops Nike KD 10 ‘Celebration’ kicks, but why’s he still mad?

Since signing with the Golden State Warriors last season, Kevin Durant hasn’t had the easiest time getting back in people’s good graces.

After losing a 3-1 lead and joining the same team that handed him that L, KD has been called everything from a snake to a coward.

Instead of the people’s champ he once was, Durant is now the NBA’s favorite villain and he knows it. KD has responded to haters on Twitter and is responding once again with his new sneakers.

His new Nike KD10 “Celebration” features a Golden State Warrior colorway and “MVP Champ” stitching on the heel.

The sneaker looks pretty aight but the main focus are the words printed on the insoles.

Written on the shoe are insults including: “LAME, SNAKE, SOFT, and FOLLOWER”.

Overlapping the words of hatred are KD’s insane stats from his finals appearance against the Cavs.

The decision to continue the drama from his move to Golden State is genius from a marketing perspective. Drama sells and the whole “stepping on haters” metaphor is clever but the whole thing makes KD seem bothered.

For someone who doesn’t care about the backlash it surely comes up a lot around him.

Kev, who are you still mad at? You left OKC over a year ago and you’re the second best ball player in the world. Accounting for all your accolades I thought we’d be over this snake stuff but I guess KD isn’t letting it go if the fans don’t.

The sneakers look dope and the “Celebration” theme is really creative. OKC has Paul George and KD has a ring. At this point I’m ready to forget about Kevin Durant being a traitor and just have the season start.

The new Nike KD10 “Celebration” is set to release September 15th for $150.
