Dallas news reporter gets shamed by angry viewers for being dumb thicc

Last week social media, and humans in general, showed their good side for once when they collectively came together in defense of Demetria Obilor, an anchor for the local Channel 8 News in Dallas.

Obilor was attacked by Jan Shedd, a viewer of the program, who, apparently took offense to how the anchor dressed on the show, even going as far as to say she will no longer view the program in a post on Facebook.

Now, the internet, can do a lot of things.

It will drag and humble you in seconds, help you find a shorty whose number you forgot to grab before leaving the function, and it will also come to your defense when grown adults are hating for no reason.

Devil in a red dress 💋 Happy Halloween 🎃♥️

Even Chance The Rapper came to Obilor’s defense.

Obilor responded, saying that haters were open to explore “other options” if they were not happy with how she looked, according to a video she posted.

“This is the way that I’m built. This is the way I was born. I’m not going anywhere, so if you don’t like it, you have your options,” she said.

Shedd later responded in a different post following-up the original that went viral, claiming that her comments were not about race, but rather about the lack of decency in the clothing choice.

“Frankly, I didn’t even notice that she was black,” she wrote. “I was shocked that Channel 8 would put someone on air that was so provocatively dressed.”

Yeah, yeah, sure Jan.

We’ve all heard the advice about not saying anything unless it’s something nice. The fact that Jan took to a public space to talk down on another woman’s body is textbook saltiness.

Goes to show that no matter what, someone is going to have something bad to say about you. It’s also good to see that there is a community that will stand behind you in times such as these.

Ready for fall 🍁🍂🎃& the weeknd
