Last week social media, and humans in general, showed their good side for once when they collectively came together in defense of Demetria Obilor, an anchor for the local Channel 8 News in Dallas.
Obilor was attacked by Jan Shedd, a viewer of the program, who, apparently took offense to how the anchor dressed on the show, even going as far as to say she will no longer view the program in a post on Facebook.
It will drag and humble you in seconds, help you find a shorty whose number you forgot to grab before leaving the function, and it will also come to your defense when grown adults are hating for no reason.
Shedd later responded in a different post following-up the original that went viral, claiming that her comments were not about race, but rather about the lack of decency in the clothing choice.
“Frankly, I didn’t even notice that she was black,” she wrote. “I was shocked that Channel 8 would put someone on air that was so provocatively dressed.”
We’ve all heard the advice about not saying anything unless it’s something nice. The fact that Jan took to a public space to talk down on another woman’s body is textbook saltiness.
Goes to show that no matter what, someone is going to have something bad to say about you. It’s also good to see that there is a community that will stand behind you in times such as these.
This week, the founder of No Limit Records, the man that narrated Solange’s timely Seat at A Table, the Ice Cream man himself, thought it was a good idea to sit down with none other than Tomi Lahren.
Now, if you don’t know who Tomi Lauren is, you’re not missing much. But for a quick catch-up, she’s the barbie doll right-winged enthusiast who captured the imagination of conservative millennials everywhere by coming at Jay Z, Beyonce, Colin Kaepernick, and others back when she hosted her own segment at conservative website The Blaze.
After being fired by Glenn Beck when she revealed her support for abortion rights, Fox News picked her up and right on cue, she’s coming for the thing that has the most influence on her audience and all of pop culture: hip-hop.
In the interview, Master P honestly looks wet behind the ears — he’s completely oblivious to what he has gotten himself into. They start off the conversation by relating to being attacked in the media, sharing encouraging words like “no one hunts small deer” in reference to the significance of being singled out.
But, as anyone properly trained in media would, Tomi eventually led the conversation to appeal to the very platform they were on, using Master P in the process.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stD7Tyf4Njc
Of the topics she subtly slid in were capitalism, where Master P cooly stated that the rappers are only claim the Democratic Party and floss with money because they’re young and that they need to grow up (huh?).
Tomi even went as far as to call Master P the ultimate Capitalist and to insisted that he was very pro limited government. I’m positive he had no clue he was subscribing to ideas that meant no tax cuts for the rich and potentially going against free lunches for kids, but that’s the reason he had no business meeting with her or Fox News in the first place.
Charlamagne Tha God and Trevor Noah learned this the hard way after receiving heavy backlash when Noah brought her on Daily Show last year and when Charla met with her and got coffee because he wanted “people to know Tomi.”
She did nothing but reiterate her own ideas and beliefs without listening to the other side on Trevor Noah’s program and ultimately Charlamagne decided not to bring her on his morning radio show Power 105.1 after meeting her and seeing that giving someone like her a platform would not be productive.
Yet, somehow Master P still found it necessary to sit down with her. He told TMZ that every time she had an interview it was hostile and about Black and white and he wanted to show her it was not about that. He went on to say that the problem is not with her and that we need to “fix ourselves first.”
Fighting hate with love is good and all and would make for a great line in a children’s book, but the rap mogul surely has to be smarter than that.
Getting on Fox News and saying that the issue ‘starts with us’ is doing none other than normalizing and reinforcing the ‘pull yourself up by the bootstraps’ mentality that conservatives use to demean the Black community.
He didn’t even counter with points stating that institutions held by people that look like her, everyday, combat the capitalist endeavors that she’s promoting.
I don’t know what Master P thought he was doing, but usually when someone has something bad to say about Beyonce, they’re not to be trusted. I guess like Birdman, Master P too has let the mogul life get to him.
Imagine walking away from a movie franchise that has grossed $4 billion worldwide with more to be made? That’s what singer/actor Tyrese Gibson fled to Instagram to do, this past Wednesday.
Gibson posted a photo on Instagram of himself, Dwayne Johnson, and their costar Vin Diesel, and threatened to walk out on the next Fast and Furious movie if Johnson is in it, in what has been a wildly escalating beef.
“I’m sorry to announce that if Dewayne is in Fast9 there will no more Roman Peirce” Gibson wrote. “You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours……… close your eyes dude you’re a ‘Clown.'”
https://www.instagram.com/p/Ba9bgMNHQt7/
Tyrese hasn’t been too fond about his Fast co-star because of recent business decisions and that escalated all over social media for the whole world to see.
The feud between the two bubbled over for Gibsonwhen he caught wind that Dwayne Johnson was planning a spin-off film,Hobbes, staring himself and Jason Statham based off the Fast series that did not include Tyrese.
I mean, I can understand bad blood over a couple of low ball jokes, but to threaten to leave a movie franchise if another character is in it is an indication of a deep seeded issue with Tyrese that stems far beyond what The Rock has actually done.
And such is the case. Tyrese is currently going through an ugly divorce that’s unfortunately limited the amount of time he spends with his daughter.
On his Instagram he’s been posting pictures and videos, sharing bits and pieces of his story with #Shaylarocks and #ParentAlienation hashtag. So the news of a potential delay to the production of Fast 9, and, more importantly, his paycheck for Fast 9 only adds insult to injury.
Gibson even said in a post, that he’s not mad about The Rock getting a spin-off movie per se, but rather that, given his financial circumstances, a bone wouldn’t be thrown his way.
“FYI I was never mad at The Rock – I was just mad that he was ‘pitched’ an idea privately and said yes to it without thinking of what I’m dealing with personally,” Gibson wrote alongside a pic of himself and Lee Daniels. “I’m almost broke paying legal fees and is doing what we committed to doing for the #FastFans and #FastFamily cause the fast is tradition it’s not just another Movie. Fast was created to COUNTER images of racism, to counter that WE ARE NOT ONE RACE.”
At what point do we stop laughing and start asking questions? Because it’s when we normalize and make light of these emotional bursts that people will become less inclined to let them out.
Maybe going to social media was not the right method but when you’re not able to see a child you love after bleeding your pockets to do just that, I can see how correctness would become a secondary priority.
Parent alienation is probably something you could never imagine unless having gone through it but you have to admit it’s not a farfetched claim. After the hearing with his ex-wife Norma Gibson last week Gibson was hospitalized with chest pains, according to TMZ.
Tyrese is clearly going through some real shit. In September his ex-wife told People that Tyrese has been diagnosed as being bi-polar, a mental health disorder. A payday as big as a Fast 9, one suddenly being pushed back, on top of being away from your daughter, understandably would trigger those symptoms.
But everyone doesn’t see what Tyrese is going through as a mental breakdown or a matter of mental health. Rather, just another rich celebrity being dramatic again.
This is why, from 2014-2015, only 9 percent of Black Americans voluntarily sought out psychological help according study conducted by National Institute of Mental Health.
It’s also why African Americans are 20% more likely to experience serious mental health problems than the general population.
If you have been watching this feud between Tyrese and the Rock and wondered if something is wrong with Tyrese, the answer is clearly yes!
The internet is going to internet, meaning jokes are going to fly. But you would only be fooling yourself if you did not pay attention to the stresses your psyche is continually under.
Tyrese needs a publicist and a friend to take his phone away but he also needs people to wake up and realize that no amount of money can take away the duress your mental state can be under.
Although Big K.R.I.T. has already released seven projects prior — including 2010’s K.R.I.T WuzHere, which garnered him national acclaim — it wasn’t until his 2011 mixtape Return of 4Eva, that made everyone see K.R.I.T. as a force with the potential to give hip-hop a new voice.
Tom Breihann of Pitchfork praised it as one of the finest rap releases of 2011. Ketchum III of HipHopDX reached the DX consensus of “Free Album” — (the highest possible praise for a mixtape) and Slant magazine crowned it the rap album to beat in 2011.
K.R.I.T. had just signed with Def Jam in 2010 as well as gracing the cover of 2011 XXL ‘Freshman’ cover issue where he stood shoulder to shoulder with Meek Mill, YG, Mac Miller, and Kendrick Lamar.
Yet, since that cover issue, K.R.I.T. has not seen the same looks, placements, features, or even props that his classmates have been afforded.
We’re not talking about an industry plant or someone that got on based off co-signs. Big K.R.I.T. is a dual threat: he’s just as talented a producer as he is a rapper. His penchant for soul samples is only matched by his dedication to mastering the craft. He’s no joke.
Here he is playing Rhyme Roulette, a game where you’re asked to pick three records blindfolded, then tasked to make a beat out of them on spot, just to give context of how cold he is.
Not to mention he can straight up go bar for bar with literally whoever you can think of. At the BET cypher back in 2016, people were shocked at his performance as if he hasn’t been delivering top-shelf quality lyrics his entire career.
Comparisons to UGK’s Pimp C, T.I., and even Outkast, off the bat, put K.R.I.T in a rare space for Southern rappers, especially seeing that the south was already on smash with the amount of talent pouring out of Atlanta.
He was given the respect of a next great but when you see his representation compared to what he offers, there was always a disconnect.
So what is it, the sales?
His first studio album, Live From The Underground, which was under Def Jam, didn’t sell that well but his second studio album Cadillactica did alright. It hit No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart upon its debut, even peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
That’s after he felt like his “album was under shipped,” according to a tweet. The project moved 44,000 units in first-week sales (his best week ever), according to Nielsen SoundScan.
But in 2014, Def Jam dropped him anyway.
The newly-independent rapper explained on Sway’s Universe last year what that process was like after announcing the news of the separation from the label on Twitter, releasing a series of twelve freestyles in twelve hours, dubbed #12For12 in honor of his new independence.
“When you young all you want to do is be on the radio and all you want to do is get a contract, get a deal. But once you get those things, you normally don’t realize what’s next. The next step. Me, I had the kind of team and people around me that didn’t mind telling me the game. I graduated from being just a rapper to understanding production and understanding my worth and how those are separate entities. And I graduated from that to MULTI, the branding of such. And then becoming a businessman. Now, understanding my worth, partnerships, not necessarily just signing as a rapper because I bring more to the table. I know how to direct the artist to the right records, how to produce, put them in the right space and help them create their narrative and be comfortable with it.”
That’s when it dawned on me, it’s those exact sentiments — that worth, understanding of the industry and newfound purpose — that has kept K.R.I.T. from reaching the heights his talents deserve.
K.R.I.T. should occupy the spaces J. Cole, K.Dot and Big Sean do. His skills are on par. And his understanding of this fact is what has kept him going three years after that severance with Def Jam. Which brings us to his newest LP, New LP 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time.
4eva is a Mighty Long Time is a double album that enlists your Southern favorites like T.I., Ceelo Green, UGK, Bilal, Jill Scott, and more. K.R.I.T. shares production cred with names like Robert Glasper and others, and together they reinforce the elements that stood out from K.R.I.T. Wuz Here.
The album has everything you could ask for in project; just with a Southern flavor. If it’s drums you like, “Aux Chord” got you. Or maybe it’s rappity-rap, rap you prefer? Put “Big Bank” in rotation, K.R.I.T. and T.I. go at it. Even if it’s soul, “The Light” will hit that sweet spot for ya.
For a lot of people, it’s the Mississippi drawl that turns them off. For others, they give the J. Cole excuse: he’s boring.
To each their own, even Andre 3000 admitted not being on the pulse of rap’s current sound. But one thing’s for sure, it’s that there is no lack of talent coming from the down South spitter.

I don’t know what it is about cold weather but it seems to come with a particular mood that can leave the most bitter taste in your mouth.
Open shoes and sandals are up there with shorts and watermelon for me. Just leave it back in the happier months. It has no place here. So I understand the hesitance Ty Dolla $ign’s new album Beach House 3 initially gives.
BH3, which was released this past Friday on October 27th, is actually the fourth installment in a series that dates back to 2012 and the first as a studio album.
The first Beach House was released on October 1st, 2012 (not summer) and although the second installment was in July, Ty’s Beach House EP dropped in January 2014 which is anything but summer.
That’s because Ty Dolla $ign’s Beach House series, contrary to the name and artwork, is not about summer.
Ty Dolla $ign is interesting because he’s that artist that people don’t quite know, but they’re positive they’ve heard before.
On top of that, it’s hard to box in his sound. Is he a rapper? Is he a singer? If he’s a singer, is it R&B? So when he drops “out of season” it just adds to his mystery.
But for those who follow music, he’s no mystery at all.
Between “Toot it and Boot it”, “Paranoid”, “Or Nah”, and “Blase” we’re looking at over four times platinum in sales.
Not to mention having writing cred on hits like Chris Browns “Loyal”, “Post To Be”, and the Rihanna, Kanye West, Paul McCartney mash-up “Fourfiveseconds”. The smooth chorus on 2 Chainz’s 2017 hit “It’s A Vibe” is thanks to this man.
So what’s behind project title? While promoting the release of the album he stopped by VICE’s Desus and Mero to explain. “It’s more of a metaphorical thing meaning ‘success,’ he told the hosts.
When the Cali native was a kid, his parents used to take Ty and his siblings to a local beach community where they would pretend they lived, predicting where their rooms would be and so forth.
So, in aspirations of owning one, he named his first mixtape and now mixtape series, in homage to obtaining it.
“What I want to do with Beach House 3 is just let people know that, yeah, I kept these dreams alive and every fucking thing I dream of happens.”
And when you listen to any of the tracks you’ll begin to see that.
Songs like “So Am I”, which features Damian Marley and Skrillex, though a romantic cut, has a smooth peace to it that you can only imagine “making it” feels like.
Even the joint “Sleep On Me”, which features Future, has a lazy lure that contrasts the upbeat summer vibes you’d probably predict an album named Beach House to have.
Once you actually get into the album you’ll discover that you came across a gem and a really talented musician. Any questions of whether he’s a rapper or singer will be answered. CC: “Message in a Bottle”, “Famous” — which features none other than John Mayer — and “Droptop in the Rain”.
Ty showcases how to mesh soulful runs, harmonizations, and songwriting with the fast-paced melody driven sound that dominates the industry — and he actually stuck the landing.
The energy is positive throughout the entire album and will hold your attention from top to bottom. Most of all, it’s inspiring to see how an artist saw something he wanted come together.
Basically, this album could have been called CPA, NBA Starting Guard, or World Renowned Basket Weaver; the concept is just dope. Beach House 3 is about being the best you can be and achieving your dreams.
At Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philly Friday night, something magical happened. It was like watching Goku and Vegeta fuse into Super Saiyan 4, Kevin Durant join forces with the Warriors, or any Rush Hour flick.
While onstage in front of tens of thousands of fans, Offset proposed to Cardi B, and she said yes, instantly making them the greatest duo to ever come together in history.
Cardi B and Offset is the fairytale couple we never knew we needed. They’re two hood legends who made splashes in the mainstream world not giving a fuck about the rules.
Cardi B’s come-up alone was something everyone found themselves rallying behind. She went from dancing at nightclubs to finding viral success on the internet to landing a spot on Love & Hip-Hop.
Then, for shits and giggles, landed the number one song in the country, with “Bodak Yellow” becoming the highest-charting song by a solo female rapper since Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” in the process.
Prior to the Offset proposal, I thought she peaked.
Offset is no slouch either. He and his amigos went number one far before his fiancé with the smash hit “Bad and Boujie” back in January. We’re talking Migos, number one on the Billboard. Not to mention Offset has been spazzing on everyone’s features this year with “Met Gala”, “Headlock”, and “No Complaints”
It was like, them being together was enough, you know? So the fact that Offset decided to follow the OG Gwuop’s footsteps and go down the aisle, simply makes the storyline that much sweeter.
Cardi doesn’t have the mystique of Beyonce, the elegance of Cassie, or the bank account of Kim but she’ll throw a temper tantrum on Instagram story and break-up with Offset for stealing her purple blanket.
Reasons why me and Offset got into it …I think he stoled my purple blanket 😒but it wasn’t him so I’m still looking for the suspect
And Offset is far from Jay-Z — I’m sure he has unlimited minutes on his money phone — yet, when someone proposes by squatting, not kneeling, and finishing the proposal in “Ya digg?” I think I relate more to the former.
I mean, my mans pulled up on Cardi in the Bronx as if they aren’t worth more than the building itself. The mix between their raw authenticity and piping hot careers has created a rollercoaster I want front seats to.
And so does everyone else. Offset’s proposal barely had time to get out his mouth before BET and VH1 started battling over who will land the special.

Whoever gets to capture Cardi B and her 8-carat ring will be in for a nice payday.
Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir’s Mane Event found an audience on BET earlier this month, so I’m absolutely positive there will be a demand for this hip-hop duo, too.

If history has taught us anything, it’s not to put faith in these celebrity relationships (I’m still adjusting to Wiz and Amber not being together). Besides, divorce amongst celeb couples is so regular it seems like it’s part of the gig.
But I don’t care. I’m all in on Offset and Cardi. I’m drinking the Kool-Aid on this one and I don’t want to look back.
The couple makes you feel as if anything is possible no matter where you come from. That you can be yourself, pursue your dream your way, and still reach the highest peaks. That’s why they’re important, whether they last or not.
At the very least it’s going to give us more dope music. Their latest collab “Motorsport”, which features the rest of Migos and Nicki Minaj, is oozing with chemistry.
Only time can tell the future. Until then, we’re in for an interesting ride.
In 2017, an era where Trump has seemingly made outlandish, jaw-dropping statements a norm, he was outdone by Texans owner Bob McNair on Friday.
Earlier this month in October, NFL owners hand-selected by Commissioner Roger Goodell and a handful of NFL players met in New York City to talk about the protests sparked by Collin Kaepernick last year.
According to a new ESPN The Magazine piece by Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr., Bob McNair, who is a Donald Trump supporter and campaign contributor, had his two cents to add with regards to the protests. Except it ended up costing a lot more. While talking to his colleagues, he said:
“We can’t have the inmates running the prison.”
Stunning doesn’t really give justice to my reaction when first reading Jemele Hill break the ESPN Mag segment to her mass online following.
A quote that will make you cringe from Texans owners Bob McNair, re: anthem protests: “We can't have the inmates running the prison.”
I wasn’t the only one either. Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors pretty much echoed everyone’s sentiment on the subject, saying he wouldn’t play for an owner like that.
As you can imagine, some players for the Texans felt the same, telling ESPN that they contemplated staging a walkout. They learned about the owner’s comments when Texans head coach Bill O’Brien relayed it to them in an effort to prevent them from being “blindsided” by it later.
That still did not stop star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from missing the ensuing practice for a “personal day.”
Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins’ absence from practice today was related to Bob McNair’s comments, per source.
Bob McNair apologized for his comments saying that he did not mean them and that he wasn’t referring to his own team. But as someone who stands behind Jerry Jones — who told his players to stand for the anthem or not play — and Donald Trump, it’s hard to take his word to heart.
There were players that left but returned and those that were plotting a walk out were talked out of it by the coaching staff, so clearly there are unsettled feelings. So why don’t they kneel during the anthem?
The reason Colin started sitting in the first place was to shed light on injustice, and in doing so, he, and others who have joined the cause, have uncovered more injustices — many of which are embedded in their own organizations.
O’Brien said he expects Hopkins to play against the Seahawks. While the team has not decided what they’ll do for the national anthem, Pro Bowl tackle Duane Brown said that he “can’t stay quiet about it.” For Brown’s full comments, check out the ESPN story here.
The Texans will play the Seahawks at 4:05 ET this Sunday.
On October 20th, 2018 out of nowhere fell a mixtape from heaven — a gem, really — that blessed the ears of everyone who was fortunate to give it a listen.
The 13-track, 41-minute gift from above titled Super Slimey was exactly what we all didn’t know we needed and there’s word that it’s just the beginning.
The collaborative effort from FBG President Future Hendrixx and YSL founder Young Thug, though unexpected, makes plenty of sense.
In a genre of music where collab albums are more like experiments, there was no doubt in my mind that the two leaders of melodic rap would mesh.
Their careers began peaking around the same time, they grew up 20 minutes from each other, run in the same circles, and have the same ear for beats a la Metro Boomin.
Future was even going to sign Thugger at one point for a reported $1.5 million to his Free Bandz label, but the deal never came to fruition.
Super Slimey gives you everything you could have ever expected from these two: catchy hooks, chest-thumping 808’s that makes your face scrunch up like you just smelled something foul, and some of the most creative flows and cadences I’ve ever heard. Deadass.
“No Cap”
“I gave her a little start-up money put her in a rental
I send my Ethiopian to go pray at the temple.” – Future
I was kicking it in overdrive, for Seth Firkins.” – Future
Seth Firkins is the late mastermind behind Pluto 3D, and 2015’s Dirty Sprite 2 and worked on elite projects such as Jay Z’s American Gangster and Rihanna’s Unapologetic
“4 da Gang”
“I look my demon in the face, I’m booted up the worst way…
I can’t grieve, ‘cause ain’t none of my grandma bills late.” – Future
Future has never been shy about opening up about depression and here he his again touching on his struggles.
Many say he promotes drug abuse, but if you really listen to what he’s saying he’s using music for therapy.
The beat is his analyst chair, and he’s just laying down speaking on what he struggles with the most.
“Real Love”
“It’s true I said I love you but I didn’t promise” – Thugger
Young Thug and former fiancee Jerrika Karlae have a history of an on again off again relationship, even doing so in the public eye.
Just five days ago Young Thug was trying to get his boo back on twitter.

You can say what you want about the substance of the content, but when you do please mention the flashes of their more private sides.
“Drip On Me”
“I work every day at this shit, like it can all disappear (swear)
I pray every day by this shit, when I go jump on a Leer (Super)” – Future
I’ve always respected Future’s work ethic.
“Drip On Me”
“Now I got fifty hoes on they knees
I put X in my codeine
But I’m putting nothing in my weed
Yeah I took a jet right overseas” – Young Thug
When you listen to this verse you’ll see that it’s classic Young Thug.
His screech/sing style is something literally only he can pull off, so it’s always dope when he refers to that skillset.
“Up, up out of here, gone to Mercury
All Chanel stores around the globe heard of me” – Future
“Group Home”
“I don’t want it, don’t want it if it ain’t meant
I smell codeine when I piss
I’m on it, I’m on it, I can’t forget
You can’t cry over scars this permanent” – Future
Often times, when you’re listening to Future or Young Thug the best part of the song, is the chorus, as the case with “Mink Flow”.
“All da Smoke”
“I got Barry Bonds on my wrist (yeah)
Blowed your college fund on my bitch (where, woo) – Future
The simplest of lines resonate with me. Being a college graduate currently up to his eyeballs in student loans the thought of blowing that dollar amount on one human being is simply mind-boggling to me. I love it.
In an interview with Complex, Atlanta producer Southside, claims that the mixtape is just a sample of something that could possibly be bigger. Tracks featured on the mixtape were plucked from a staggering 600 songs.
A post shared by “”JEFFERY”” (@thuggerthugger1) on
“It has no official timetable because we don’t work like that,” the 808 Mafia boss said. “Like we don’t do any of Future music like that, no official start date, we just go to the studio and have fun, and after we have made six or 700 songs we will pick the album. Literally.”
Aye, after listening to Super Slimey I’d flip my shit if I heard more of the same vein.
The mad rush to getting fit by Summer 2018 is literally everyone’s objective once the year resets.
We’re talking packed gyms, Facebook statuses declaring new lifestyles, and starting that questionable new juice cleanse.
You don’t want that life, beloved. This is why you cannot take a season off.
Working out in the Fall/Winter seasons is not attractive for a lot of reasons. You’re not showing skin, it’s colder, thus making you less motivated to get out there, and the amount of food and sweets that come with the holidays make it damn near impossible to stay in shape.
While these are all valid reasons to take the holiday season off, your perspective would be more inclined to change if you tried looking at staying in shape as an opportunity.
What sense does ruining all the hard work that, in theory, you’ve been putting in since the 1st?
So here are some tips for you to stay fit.
Embrace the cool
Half of the battle is in your mindset.
Yes, initially you’re going to be cold as hell but remember, you’re eventually going to work up a sweat — you’re not going to be cold the entire time. Get outside and enjoy the brisk weather.
You never know, you may enjoy it better than working out in the sun.
Remember, it gets dark earlier
Because it’s the Fall/Winter time, it gets darker earlier.
So late night workout sessions might have to transition to day-time sessions as well as keeping in mind what that means for the neighborhoods you run/go to workout.
Location is key
You must keep in mind that motivating yourself will be much more difficult during this season. This is why location is so important.
Finding a gym, park, or rec center that’s closer in proximity will dramatically increase your willpower to go out.
Plan ahead
Preparing is an easy way to get your mind ready to workout.
Packing your workout bag, laying out your clothes, meal prep, and even setting your shoes by the door are all ways that you can make the process of pumping yourself up easier.
Find inside routines
Sometimes it’s not your motor that will be your biggest deterrent, but the weather conditions.
This is why your creativity must heighten in the colder months if you plan on staying in shape.
This can be pairing an exercise with a television show, in-home workout videos etc. At the end of the day, it’s all about willpower and your ability to eliminate excuses.
Find a partner
Two heads are better than one and though extremely trite, this old adage rings true when you’re attempting to pry yourself out of your warm cocoon to venture into the cold to lift.
When you have someone to hold you accountable, it instills the fear of letting more than just yourself down.
Having trouble getting up to go work out?
Just let someone know you’re supposed to meet them.
Diet
Yes, while there will be all sorts delectable goodies during the holiday season, a sure way to ensure that you remain fit is to limit portion size or simply exercise discipline.
Each season features fruits and vegetables that are essential to sustain health, researching what they are as well being strict about what you consume will take you lengths towards that Summer 18 look you crave.
Have a goal
Without a destination, it’s hard to have direction and without direction, you’ll go nowhere.
This is why there should be a planned out objective that you would like to see yourself accomplish going into these cold months, especially if it’s your first time working out during these types of conditions.
If you came into Fall with a set weight, plan on leaving Winter with a different one.
Make a commitment
Make a vow to yourself that you’re going to reach whatever benchmark you set, then commit to it. When you have it in your head that this is something you truly want to do, it will make waking up to the unfavorable weather conditions a lot easier.
The first step is believing that it’s something you’re capable of doing. Once you realize the possibility, it’ll be a lot easier to stay fit.
Don’t be a straggler and wait ’till the first of the month to begin getting in shape. Do it now.
Ah yes, cuffing season — the time of year where men and women with large sexual appetites decide to quell their promiscuity for the sake of one and one only.
Some say it’s the cold weather that does it, which I can see. I mean, who has time to be out here calling Ubers across the city? The walk of shame is just different when it’s 20 degrees out. Others claim the phenomenon is due to the holidays.
Romantic fall activities like hay rides and going to the pumpkin patch are way more lit with someone on your arm. Matching Halloween costumes, surviving haunted houses, Thanksgiving and Christmas are cool with family and all, but you can’t tell me the holidays aren’t less lonely with a significant other. Besides, who are you gonna kiss on New Years?
There have even been studies. Biological anthropologist Helen Fisher told the Washington Post that as it gets darker in the winter, the body produces more melatonin, making us sleepy and groggy — “more like a homebody,” she said. “The lack of light might make people want to stay in.”
It’s funny because popular belief would suggest that rappers — and hip-hop as a whole — contradict such monogamous ideas. If we had to guess a genre of music where the main players were allergic to relationships, it would be rap.
But that’s not the case. Rappers have everyone fooled: being cuffed is actually the wave.
Despite what you hear, they aren’t really out here like that. All that “make her eat a plan B,” “never chase ’em, I duck ’em,” “I don’t love these hoes,” rhetoric you’ve been consuming is not always true.
Charlemagne Tha God, from 105.1 FM’s The Breakfast Club, said it perfectly on his Instagram yesterday:
21 and T.V. personality/model girlfriend Amber Rose have been hot and heavy and they don’t care who sees it. Amber even had him at the Slut Walk holding a “I’m A Hoe” sign. Now that’s love.
Although his raps may not suggest it, this guy is a sucker for love.
Just a few years ago, the Pittsburgh star fell hard flat on his face in love with Amber Rose (who clearly has a knack for wifing rappers), marrying and having a child with the model.
Then, after their divorce, when you’d expect someone to whore out, he fell for Brazilian model Izabela Guedes. They’ve been living happily ever after on Instagram ever since.

When 2 Chainz appeared on BET with his wife Kesha Ward for Gucci’s wedding, people were in legit shock, gasping in bewilderment that 40-year-old was married to the mother of his three kids.
Just because he knows pretty girls like trap music and has a well-known affinity for big booty hoes on his birthday, doesn’t mean he’s opposed to settling down or that any of those songs were depictions of his actual life.
Troubled, complicated, problematic or however you want to categorize Kevin Gates, the fact is that he has found someone to love him for who he is.
The “Two Phones” rapper, who has been in and out of the prison system (most recently for kicking a fan), is another example of a rapper who ultimately just wants to settle down.
He and his wife Dreka seem to be happy together even working as business partners.
Pharrell and wife Helen Lasichanh have been together since 2007 and married since 2013, but I swear I didn’t know until 2017.
The 44-year-old Grammy award-winning producer might have been hot and heavy with shorties thanks to Snoop and Jay-Z back in the day, singing songs like “Beautiful”, “Frontin'”, and “Excuse Me Miss,” but these days it’s all about Helen.

Juicy J is hilarious. First of all, no one had a clue he was engaged, and when he did get married in Vegas last year, he kept it under wraps, even deleting the Instagram post above from a close friend.
The Oscar winner had to have been talking about his longtime girlfriend, Regina Perera, on his classic “Slob On My Knob.” If not, it’s who he’s talking about now.
Lamar told Billboard back in 2015, “I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” he told the magazine. “That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion — she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”
The west coast entrepreneur, rapper, and businessman and his actress girlfriend Lauren London gave birth to a son in September and he isn’t giving any fucks about what anyone has to say about his affectionate side.
If a Crip can settle down, why is it hard for others to?
At one point in time the world looked to this man for the soundtrack to the summer (YellowAlbum still bangs), but it seems like the West Coast rapper is more into family life now.
Dom Kennedy has done extremely well keeping his private life private but you cannot blame him. Look at how happy they are.
