XXXTentacion is one of the hottest new rappers but is he too wild?

My guy XXXTentacion is type wild. The internet got first wind of him when Twitter inspired his beef with Drake. The song that got the beef poppin’ was X’s “Look at Me.”

When Drake was in Amsterdam back in January, he performed “KMT,” where his flow is suspiciously similar to XXXTentacion’s flow on “Look at Me.”

Drake followed XXXTentacion earlier that month

https://twitter.com/PigsAndPlans/status/825539693047664641

This performance took place while XXXTentacion was in jail for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, but that didn’t stop the Floridian rapper from tweeting a rebuttal to the stolen flow.

Of course, the tweet was deleted, but we managed to get our hands on the record. Check out what XXXTentacion tweeted about Drake back in late January to Kodak Black:

Peep what X had to say about Drake in his first interview after jail

Since his release, XXXTentacion has managed to gain an even bigger following on SoundCloud, accumulating over 400 million plays, 970k followers, with only 43 tracks posted.

That’s not bad for someone who’s first song, “Vice City”, was posted on SoundCloud in 2014. Even with (or maybe because of) Drake’s biting, “Look at Me” still managed to grab the #34 spot on the Billboard Hot 100  list.

XXXTentacion definitely has a cult following.

X’s  fans have wild love for him (NSFW THO).

I don’t really know how to describe X’s music but it’ll get you so fuckin hype. It’s like a screamo version of rap. This man’s energy will get you feeling like you’re in the middle of a mosh pit, blacking out on the vibes and shit. His music is not for the weak hearted.

His energy lit af.

Yeah he a wild one.

In more news, he accepts everyone for who they are regardless of what kind of background they come from. In a recent show off of his Revenge Tour with Robb Banks, X went off on a KKK audio clip that stated how the “niggas and the Jews” are taking over the country. He replied,

“I don’t give a fuck if you’re black, white, yellow, purple, if you’re gay, if you’re straight, I give a fuck if you’re a person..”

He then popped off the craziest chant having the crowd say Fuck the KKK and Donald Trump.

If you haven’t heard his latest project, check out Revenge below and let us know your thoughts on the XXXTentacion movement.

What’s really good with Kanye lately? An investigation

Kanye West is probably one of the most egocentric artists to ever touch a microphone but when he drops the heat or has some fire leaked we always can expect the best quality of music.

Just an example, an ex-intern at Def Jam leaked information of a meeting regarding the release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Rory Farrell, who is now the co-host of The Joe Budden Podcast, said that each song was originally 10 minutes long, including a 20-minute-long version of “Runaway,” according to the podcast interview he had with Eric and Jeff Rosenthal of ItsTheReal.

Farrell described how West showed up to a Def Jam Conference wearing a full suit with a kid dressed identically to him carrying his Louis Vuitton bag.

Before unveiling MBDTF Kanye scheduled a meeting the next day where he made everyone wear black suits, white shirts, and black ties.

Farrell claimed,

He shows up out of nowhere at the Def Jam offices like Lupe and Nas trying to get their albums out, in a full suit. He has—I want to say it was Don C’s son, but don’t quote me—there’s a child dressed identical to him, carrying his Louis Vuitton bag. Comes in and is just throwing a fit at how shitty everyone is dressed. So he says, ‘I’m not doing business today until everyone [here is wearing] a suit.’

MBDTF is Kanye’s magnum opus, it’s the ultimate display of his genius, and also his wildest, most eccentric traits.

This is man who said in an interview with Slate,

“When I think of competition it’s like I try to create against the past. I think about Michelangelo and Picasso, you know, the pyramids …”

But what’s good with Kanye lately?

If you didn’t hear, there was a leak last night! Someone leaked three Kanye West songs via SoundCloud, two of which featured ASAP Rocky, Young Thug, and Migos. Of course, all three have been taken down off of SoundCloud but we’ve managed to hear at least two that are still up on Youtube.

After listening to ASAP Rocky track, “Euro,” I thought it was pretty good, but it was no “Jukebox Joints.” Honestly, Rocky’s verse saved the song, otherwise the track made me feel like I was listening to something out of 2013. Of course, the sample was tough.

Don’t even get me started on the Migos and Young Thug collab. “Hold Tight,” was absolute garbage. If it wasn’t for Thugga at the end, I don’t know if I would’ve let the whole song play out. The song sounded like a brain fart in all honesty. It sounded like me and my homies freestyling saucy, talking about smashing white women.

Check out Kanye’s second verse below,

Sick Bars Bro…

I be actin’ like I’m white (white)
Fuckin’ white bitches, black and white dick (oh, ayy)
like we don’t tiki talk shit, bossed up
100 bump, I do that shit all night
Sniff a line
I be sniffing Miley Cyrus with Miley Cyrus
In a bathroom with my thumb in her ass
Now I’m actin’ like I’m white

According to TMZ, Kanye is also looking to design the Calabasas High School sports’ team uniform?

Currently, Calabasas has a deal with Adidas, the clothing giant that owns West’s Yeezy brand. Yeezy’s team recently met with school officials to pitch his idea, to design the school’s sports uniforms and re-brand the program, changing the mascot name from Coyotes to Wolves.

How do you feel about Ye’s creativity – his new kicks, music, and collaborations? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Dubai Police unveil the first Robotic Cop. What could go wrong?

Can you imagine getting stopped by a robotic snitch? The Dubai police have rolled out the first robotic officer and it will be the first unit of many robots to join the force.

The DPD is looking to amp up their backup, aiming for these mechanized snitches to take over a quarter of their force by 2030.

Not only does this thing use artificial intelligence to bag you but it can use face recognition technology to see if you are on the wanted list. The snitch can’t be that fast wheeling at 220 pounds. I can tell you right now, it wouldn’t catch me if it saw me toking.

How could this thing ever peace me?

The 70-inch tall cop droid can also engage with people too. Its emotion detector allows the robocop to recognize a person’s gestures and body language from five feet away.

The detector can tell if a person is happy, sad, and even angry by studying his or her facial expression.

Trust me it gets more sus’. The robot is said to have a list of corny ass jokes if it has to lighten the mood.

I don’t think robots should have a humor setting

Strapped with an interactive tablet, The Robosnitch can communicate with people, speak six languages, respond to public queries, and shake hands too.

The Robocop also comes equipped with a navigation system so if it’s ever trapped in the hood it can find its way back to the robocrib.

To be honest, I don’t know how I feel about a robotic police force. Even though the only one in existence is in Dubai I know some real G’s that wouldn’t feel too good about it, if they saw one of these strolling around in their city.

Who knows? You might start seeing more robosnitches around your hood.

Would a Frank Underwood presidency be a good look for America?

The fifth season of House of Cards has finally premiered this week on Netflix after a 14-month wait.

We all know from past seasons that Frank Underwood, Kevin Spacey’s character, has always been a little bit careful – choosing his moves wisely – but this time around he does not give one! He’s coming for America’s neck, one nation Underwood, you feel me. Do you remember watching the trailer?

Actually, I got a little shook because HOC is real AF.

He’s worked hard to gain power in the oval office but will he let that power get to his head this season? The Underwoods are going for 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, basically, you get the point, they’re going for a complete takeover of the American government.

If you don’t know who Frank Underwood is, please let me give you a quick rundown because this dude is a mutha fuckin boss.

He is willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He’ll play you like a Gameboy . Even when you think you are winning, you are not. Underwood is just waiting for you to take that one misstep. Shit, he’ll even kill you.

I’m only a couple of episodes into the new season but his tyranny already has me thinking, what if this was real? What if Frank Underwood was actually our Commander and Chief?

Our president would get it poppin’ with Drake.

What order? Underwood has no authority!

He’d make his wife run for VPOTUS.

Marshal Ali would be our president’s arch nemesis.

He’d devour you like he devours Freddy’s BBQ ribs.

He’ll put a muzzle on that mouth.

Or Frank will just straight up kill you!

Our president would be a human calculator.

He wouldn’t misspell “COVERAGE.”

Our commander and chief would have peace of mind because he doesn’t give one about the skeletons in his closet.

Eminem says Jim Carey basically wrote his album ‘The Eminem Show’

Back in 2002, Eminem released his third studio album, The Eminem Show. While that’s making me feel really old, I remember being 10 years old like it was yesterday. My memory hasn’t gone to shit yet.

What do I remember the most? Sneaking around to get the album because I definitely was not of age, to hear the profound lyrics. Do you know what I had to do to even get my hands on that album? I had to sneak into my dad’s room and hit the special agent dip, tuck, and roll, all while this man was sleeping.

I can hear my parents yelling at me now after they popped open my Discman, realizing the damage had already been done, and taking it away from me for three years. Thank God, I had the homies burn an extra disc for me.

The Eminem Show really brings back a lot of childhood memories and when I saw that Eminem was doing a 15th-anniversary project on the album it really got my hype. Just watching snippets of him and Dre in the studio, Em performing “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” rekindled some of those memories of when I first started listening to rap music.

Four days ago legendary rapper, Eminem dropped a teaser on da Gram

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUka3lyFC2q/?taken-by=eminem

I mean who could forget the Grammy Award winning album that has sold 11,600,000 copies in the United States and over 30 million copies worldwide? Not to mention hosting writers like Steven Tyler, producers like Dr. Dre, and a feature from Nate Dogg.

What about the inspiration behind The Eminem Show? In the credits for the anniversary album, he posted on the Gram, he explained that Jim Carey’s 1998 film, The Truman Show, was the driving force behind the album’s creation.

Let me find out that Jim is the ill ghostwriter

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUuV9QglxqO/?taken-by=eminem

During this time, Eminem had an ill dedication to his craft, paired with a do or die mentality. He promised in “Till I Collapse” that if his lyricism ever declined that he’d rather put the pen down than rap whack bars.

Slim Shady even goes on to state that he’s the one who took Tupac’s audience after he died saying that the only difference between him and the late emcee is the swap of skin color.

Yo chill these bars from “Till I Collapse,” though.

Till I collapse I’m spillin’ these raps long as you feel ’em
Till the day that I drop you’ll never say that I’m not killin’ ’em
‘Cause when I am not, then I’ma stop pennin’ ’em
And I am not hip hop and I’m just not Eminem
Subliminal thoughts, when I’ma stop sendin’ ’em?
Women are caught in webs, spin ’em and hock venom
Adrenaline shots of penicillin could not get the illin’ to stop
Amoxicillin’s just not real enough
The criminal, cop killin’, hip-hop villain
A minimal swap to cop millions of Pac listeners

Last night he released the 15th-anniversary cassette album with a series of bundles featuring merchandise like an autographed poster and the fire Eminem Show t-shirt. Yes, you read that right I said cassette.

Peep The Eminem Show merch he posted on Twitter this morning

Peep Em in break of the millennium though.

Alec Monopoly is the most fire anonymous street artist since Banksy

Art is second nature for Alec Monopoly. As he was learning to write he was learning to draw. He grew up in NYC and is the son of a financier and an oil painter. His mother was the artist, who serves as one of his greatest inspirations.

Monopoly is a true artist, constantly creating new pieces, as long as he is not eating or sleeping. Alec showcased his talents at a very young age, selling his first painting at 12 years old for $500.

His passion turned into a career when his street art and graffiti in the Meat Packing District caught the eye of NYC real estate developer Todd Cohen. When Cohen offered to buy 10 of his pieces, Monopoly’s success began.

Alec took inspiration from Bernie Madoff, the financial crisis, and the Monopoly board game, creating pieces exhibiting his depiction of capitalistic greed.

It’s amazing how he put all of his inspirations together to create art that would convey the corrupt American banking industry. Check out what he said in a Forbes interview back in 2015,

“I was playing Monopoly and watching the news, and I saw Bernie Madoff being arrested. And it hit me, it was like a light bulb and, that night, I started a canvas of a Monopoly guy that I never finished. It’s a Monopoly guy half-painted, and I went out on the street and just started tagging the Monopoly guy. The response was so quick. It was picked up on the Internet and in magazines, so I just went crazy with it.”

Alec made the world his canvas, tagging his images of the Rich Uncle Penny Bags all over the globe from NYC…

To Paris where he finds a lot of raw inspiration…

And you already know he had to get it poppin’ in Miami too.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BMu-03XhPuV/?taken-by=alecmonopoly

It was Alec’s big move from NY to Cali that established him as a unique artist, bringing his Wall St. influenced art to places like Melrose and Sunset Blvd.

https://www.instagram.com/p/tt0iGqkMPS/

Monopoly’s art is a hit with the rich and famous. He has won the attention of actors and artists alike. Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, Seth Rogan, Benecio Del Toro, and Robert Dinero have all bought pieces from him. Back in 2013, he also collaborated with Justin Beiber where he created a mural live on the red carpet for Beiber’s hit film, Justin Beiber’s Believe.

Alec Monopoly’s creativity doesn’t stop there! The street’s prophet also sprays images of other wealthy pop-culture figures from childhood to join the Monopoly Man…

And Uncle Scrooge.

Monopoly draws inspiration from pop culture as well. Peep his interpretations of celebrity icons such as Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Jack Nicholson, Goldie Hawn and Muhammed Ali.

It’s interesting to see how his brand extends way beyond just his huge murals and tagged up pieces. Monopoly has teamed with hotels, jewelry companies, and clothing brands showcasing his talents.

Here he collaborated with W Maldives Retreat and Spa.

Alec is also the art provocateur of TAG Heuer.

Just killing another runway show because he really does this.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUhDgfoFxI7/?taken-by=alecmonopoly

He has managed to do all of this while concealing his identity, either with a hand over his mouth, a dust mask, or a bandana. Even while I was watching him in an interview with his mask off he never revealed his true identity.

The craziest part is that Alec isn’t even his real name.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUhY-W2Fupz/?taken-by=alecmonopoly

Want to check out some of his latest work?  You can find it at the Eden Fine Art Gallery. Alec’s art will be showcased through Dec. 30.

Bryson Tiller stays ‘True To Self,’ drops second album a month early

Bryson Tiller released his sophomore album True to Self, a month earlier than expected, last night while we were all knocked. The album wasn’t due until June 23, but I’m guessing Tiller was ready to set it off.

It’s like 4/20 coming early.

If you don’t know Bryson Tiller, aka Pen Griffey, and haven’t heard his first album, you need to now. His first album,T R A P S O U L, went platinum less than seven months after its release in October 2015.

T R A P S O U L is my Bible and True to Self  will be my Koran.

I’m hoping Tiller will be able to rack another platinum plaque with True to Self.

Plaques on plaques on plaques…

Pen Griffey’s lyrics get you thinking about everything, gonna have you questioning your 5th grade break up.

Tiller keeps it a buck when speaking on relationships. Check out this verse from “Something Tells Me” the hit single off of True to Self.

Rubbing shoulders with bitches I used to put on pedestals
But still I keep it professional
Hey, laying in the bed and you acting like I can’t even touch you
I don’t know why you do that
Shower with the door open, why you do that?
Drop the towel right in front of me, you cruel
What’s goin’ on, baby, talk to me, baby
Say it to me straight, did I make a mistake?
And I can’t concentrate while you’re standing there naked
Acting strange, yeah, yeah, yeah

Do you feel me? It’s unreal how he can wrap the listener into his relatable lyrics, centering them in a situation they’ve been in before.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUiqCtQjf7G/?taken-by=brysontiller&hl=en

Sometimes I find myself afraid to light one to Bryson’s music.

What’s more is that this dude was able to drop another album, 19 tracks, with no huge features, just major collaborations with A-list producers. True to Self features beats from T-Minus, Wondagurl, Allen Ritter, and Boi-1da. The success of Trapsoul definitely helped Tiller get these producers’ attention.

He was hype about teaming up with some of the best hip-hop and R&B producers who have worked with Kanye, Drake, Rihanna, and Kendrick as he said in a Rolling Stone interview.

“There was one point I rented this house in Miami and had all these producers fly out – Vinylz, Boi-1da, Allen Ritter. I just looked up and realized that I had the whole radio in my living room.”

True to Self is a little bit more up-tempo thanT R A P S O U L. Tracks like “Benz Truck,” “Self Made,” and “Before You Judge” will be knocking hard in the clubs this summer for sure.

Majid Jordan drops some tough visuals for Phases

In this sick visual the two Canadian artists hit the desert, whip the sick Drop Top Wop, and watch smoky paint cans explode all around them to explain an experiential phase as someone in a new country. Majid Jordan touch on the different cultures, new places, new people, and how their lives are changing.

Can you imagine being someplace where you didn’t know anyone and you had to chill?

Check out the first verse from Phases.

I came to this country, didn’t know a damn thing
18 year old and in need of planning
Thought I was ready, I wasn’t ready
Guess it’s me and myself again
Time to go make some friends
Find me somebody to keep me safe

Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman came together in 2011 to create Majid Jordan. The Canadian duo hail from Toronto, Majid, arriving in Toronto by way of Bahrain, and are signed to Drake and 40’s OVO Sound label.

It’s crazy to see how far they have come from meeting one another in college at the University of Toronto. Before Majid Jordan had an actual studio they would work between Ullman’s dorm room and his parents’ basement.

They launched their first joint EP titled Afterhours on SoundCloud under the pseudonym Good People. After 40 caught wind of their EP and was impressed by their work he decided to sign them to OVO.

Since that impression, Majid Jordan has gone on to co-produce Drake’s track “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” the single off his platinum-selling album Nothing Was the Same.

“Hold On, We’re Going Home” went on to become Drake’s most successful single charting in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

I mean I feel like I’m not the only one who’s hype to see what comes next for these two.

Check out the visuals below and let us know what you think. “Phases” is the first single since the release of their self-titled debut in 2016.

Dr. Dre x Jimmy Iovine ‘The Defiant Ones’ doc series to premier on HBO

HBO, the monster of television networks, presented a new teaser for a Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine four part documentary series. The Defiant Ones is set to debut on July 9 with subsequent episodes premiering on July 10th, 11th and 12th.

The four part doc series is directed by Allen Hughes who is best known for Menace II Society.

Why did HBO and Allen Hughes decide to take this three year journey interviewing Dre and Iovine? The subjects of the mini-series have been an inseparable successful hip hop duo for almost three decades.

Iovine and Dre got it poppin’ in the 90s with Interscope Records which marketed and distributed Dre and Suge Knight’s Death Row Records. Before the end of the decade, the duo created Aftermath, Dr. Dre’s own label. Iovine and Dre played a big part in making hip-hop a global phenomenon.

Their story doesn’t end there; they teamed up again to flip Beats by Dre, a product which they started in 2006, and sold to Apple for $3 billion in 2014.

Definitely a Sick Day in Music Heaven

https://twitter.com/beatsbydre/status/471751382244937728

The Defiant Ones features in-depth interviews with Dre and Iovine, along with a diverse cast of artists, including Bono, Nas, Ice Cube, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Trent Reznor, and more, interviewed over the course of three years.

You already know I’m hype to see what Em says.

I guess Lady Gaga will be Making an appearance too.

https://twitter.com/KingLadyGaga/status/864712708427534336

If you are a music fan, how couldn’t you be excited for this doc series to debut? Casey Bloys, president of HBO Programming, has been hype for the debut from December.

Bloys told Complex in a Dec. 2016 interview,

“Allen Hughes takes you on a journey through some of the most important flash points of popular culture, and I’m delighted we can bring this unforgettable saga to our viewers.”

Are you prepared to watch never before seen footage and BTS clips featuring some of the globe’s biggest artists?

Metro Boomin’s collab album with Gucci Mane solidifies GOAT status

“If Young Metro Don’t Trust You I’m Gon Shoot You,” has become one of the most iconic producer tag lines over the past couple of years. Shout out to Future.

Metro Boomin, aka Leland Wayne, aka Young Metro, or simply just Metro has made his way to the top of list, ranking with some of the best producers ever. At the age of 23, Metro already has 9 platinum records and 10 gold records.

But his latest project with Gucci Mane may truly cement him as the GOAT. The album titled DROPTOPWOP may have just dropped but it’s already too fire and actually celebrates Gucci’s one-year anniversary release from prison.

Gucci provided us with the album cover art this week.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUemrjXjIa_/

Plus the 10-track list which includes features from 2 Chainz, Young Dolph and Rick Ross.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUemi_DDNsP/

While his status solidified, Young Metro started small like everyone else. He began making music at 13 years old in St. Louis, creating simple beats he could rap over after his mom gave him a laptop and early music production software Fruity Loops. He fell in love with creating and the idea of becoming a producer.

Metro directed his focus on hip-hop production and honed his talents using social media platforms to take his career to the next level.

Metro’s breakthrough came with an appearance on Bricksquad artist Tray Don’s Death of Tay Beatz: The Rise of Tay Don in 2010. Metro was only 16.

This collaboration with the BrickSquad family sparked relationships that would change Metro’s life forever, getting to work with Waka, Future, Gucci, French, OJ Da Juiceman, Dj Esco, Zeytoven, and many other huge artists thereafter.

His latest project with Gucci could cement his status as the new GOAT.

#Droptopwop out now. link in bio 🏎

A post shared by Metro Boomin (@metroboomin) on

But even before this, he had to pave his way. He faced struggles early on and could’ve easily gave up. Metro Boomin told The Fader in 2013,

I couldn’t catch a break. I went to Morehouse for a semester. That shit was really a lot. Studio then class right after, I was driving myself crazy.

Good thing he didn’t.

Working alongside Future and Kanye West on “Honest,” and executive producing Monster, spawning the hit single, “Commas.” How could we forget Metro’s work on two of the best recent hip-hop projects to drop, What a Time to Be Alive and DS2?

After producing three tracks on Kanye’s TLOP, working with 21 Savage, and his work with Future, including the memable “Mask Off,” he’s ready to take that next step that only Gucci Mane could assist with.

If you haven’t heard the “Mask Off Remix” with Kendrick Lamar yet check it out here.

Salute to Metro for his musical excellence and getting to the bread.
