Was June 2018 the greatest month in music ever? Peep the top 10 albums

To say June was a big month in music would be a gross understatement. It was momentous. It seemed as if every week a new artist dropped quality music, whether it being album, single or video.

From 03 Greedo’s 27-track God Level, which he dropped before turning himself over to authorities to serve out a lengthy prison sentence on June 27th, to NBA YoungBoy’s Master The Day of Judgement project which was released June 28th, there was no shortage of albums to thumb through.

Some we were prepared for. Pusha-T gave us a heads up about the G.O.O.D music’s summer roll-out plan back in May. While others came out of nowhere. The Carters — a joint group of, you guessed it, Sean and Beyonce Carter — decided to bless the world mid-June.

Just for a brief recap, just in case the moment has slipped our memory, let me lay out a couple of highlights:

Week one, Kanye drops ye. Week two, Jorga Smith come out with Lost and Found and Kanye and Cudi drop Kids See Ghosts. Week three, it’s Jay Rock (thank God Nicki pushed her album back). And to top it all off, Teyana Taylor rounded out week four.

That does not mention everyone waiting on pins and needles for Drake to respond to Pusha-T. Hip-Hop was in rare form this past month.

In fact, June was so prolific with music releases I decided to make a list of the month’s top ten albums. Of course, everyone could not be mentioned and my own preference is bound to change in time, but here are the ones I feel are the cream of the crop right now.

Cheers to one hell of a June.

Drake – Scorpion (June 29)
